Steamships Limited is in search of a proven, capable and results-driven individual to oversee all procurement, vendor management, and store keeping and inventory management for technical ship Management of Consort Express Lines and Pacific Towing fleets with objective of optimizing maintenance costs and improving service availability. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Ship Management. 

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Senior Procurement Manager to oversee the operations and procurement team in Port Moresby and Lae. As a Senior Procurement Manager, your primary responsibilities are as follows;

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure procurement activities support business objectives, and developing and implementing procurement strategies that are aligned with company goals and objectives.
• Supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost management, based on quality, cost, and reliability, working with the business to minimise total cost of ownership.
• Manage the procurement team in Port Moresby and Lae, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are to perform their duties effectively.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, ensuring that the best possible terms and conditions.
• Maintaining strong understanding of market trends and the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Required Experience

Significant experience, 10 years in procurement or supply chain management and including:

• Worked as Procurement Manager in a ship Management company (20+ vessels).
• Experienced as a Surveyor/Auditor
• Experienced with advance Fleet Management systems (AMOS, TM Master)
• Track record of driving growth and achieving strategic objectives.
• Proven success and work experience in a cross-cultural environment.

Qualifications and Key Ccompetencies

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related Field.
• Class 1 foreign going Master/Chief Engineer
• Strong technical acumen and strategic planning skills
• Exceptional communication and team development abilities
• Deep understanding of good policy, process, systems, and practices across the asset life cycle.
• Effective Leader – Inform, inspire and motivate teams, guide them through challenges, and set a clear direction for achieving organizational goals.
