National Commercial Manager

Reporting into the General Manager Commercial of the Steamships Logistics division. As a National Commercial Manager, your responsibility will be to lead the sales teams for liner shipping, General Transport (East West & JVPS entities, Customs, warehousing and joined up offerings (e.g. door to door contracts or project- specific tenders and contracts such as LNG/Mining/ infrastructure work).

Purposely to lead outdoor sales activities across consort express lines and East West Transport; sell door to door actively; seek new business opportunities; manage the sales pipeline; feedback to our pricing and customer service teams.



  • Safety: Complete the IOSH Management safety certificate in your first three months in the role and be part of the divisional objectives on safety including leading by example with management safety walks, safety observations and never knowingly walking past unsafe acts.
  • Sales force management for liner shipping and general transport be the face of the company by leading outdoor sales with customers across liner shipping and general transport; own personal interactions with key customers; champion the customer relationship management system and manage sales leaders and key account owners to reach new and existing customers.
  • Revenue Management: engage closely with the pricing team to feedback insights on liner customer liner shipping and general transport rate.
  • Sales Reporting be part of the commercial reporting with the GM Commercial and GM’s of each OpCo of the division each month; be able to take the lead in explaining the drivers of sales performance and reasons for over - or under – performance.
  • Customer Service and digital: Work with GM Commercial and Customer Service teams to champion new digital customer products (such as the consort website and other digital applications) to enhance how we sell to and service our customers.
  • Marketing and Communication: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop new marketing content (such as customer presentations) and feedback insights from customer interactions and marketing campaigns.



  • University degree
  • Sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment
  • Team management experience
  • Pricing and revenue management experience
  • Commercial and business case acumen
  • Microsoft Office competent
  • Communications and presentations skills
