Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Customs Brokerage Manager located in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.  Reporting to the General Manager – Commercial, East West Transport, the Customs Brokerage Manager will be responsible for:

• Managing and controlling the processing of customs brokerage services.
• Overseeing all aspects of the import and export customs clearance processes in Papua New Guinea. This includes compiling, brokerage and customer service within the system (Cargo wise).
• Ensuring excellent customer service is provided.
   

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years management experience in the shipping industry.
• Proven experience as a Customs Broker or in a similar Customs compliance role.
• Hands on experience with a cargo documentation management platform, such as Cargowise or Softship.
• Import and Export Shipping Documentation, Customer Service experience or related forwarding and / or logistics experience in a similar capacity.

Qualifications and Key Competencies

• Tertiary qualification in Bachelor's Degree in Customs Administration, Logistics, or a related field in Business, sales and marketing, shipping, or in another relevant discipline.
• It is essential to have a deep understanding of PNG Customs regulations, trade compliance, and import procedures.
• Customer Service oriented
• Organised and process oriented
• Manage and measure work performance 
• Ability to multi-task and deal with and manage multiple stakeholders at management
