KHAISIR TAKES THE REIGNS AT EAST WEST TRANSPORT

Steamships Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Khaisir as General Manger East West Transport. Mr. Khaisir is the first Papua New Guinean to be appointed to be General Manager of one of Steamships operating companies.


Mr. Khaisir joined Steamships in 2018 in the business development team in its parent company, Steamships Trading Company Ltd, where he was responsible for helping identify new opportunities and improve the existing business practices across the group’s operating companies. In particular, he spent time helping to lay the foundation of Pacific Palms Property’s current business operating framework, and then in 2019, Mr. Khaisir was promoted to Commercial Manager EastWest Transport. In that role he was responsible for all commercial operations across the trucking division. More recently, he oversaw the successful implementation of industry leading CargoWise logistics management systems within EastWest Transport.


EastWest Transport operates across a broad spectrum of transport related activities including bulk fuel, containerised freight, break bulk cargo, and depot related services such as equipment hire, warehousing, and yard storage. It also offers a licensed customs clearance service in Lae and Port Moresby.

At this exciting time in the Papua New Guinean economic cycle, Dan is well placed to lead EastWest Transport and help the company capture the many opportunities linked to an expanding economy.”


Dan Khaisir holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Southern Queensland. Mr. Khaisir has strong projects and commercial experience having worked in a multitude of service industries in PNG, Australia, and New Zealand over the last 18 years. Mr. Khaisir has worked at KPMG, in rotor wing logistics and in the international development sector.
