Simon Martin

Simon joined Steamships in 2024 as Hospitality Division Chief Operations Officer and has over 25 years experience in the hospitality industry in various capacities in the private and Not-for-Profit sectors including working in operations, education, sustainability and social entrepreneurship.
After positions in, kitchen, service, front office and rooms divisions, posted in Thailand, France, Canada and China for hospitality brands such as InterContinental or Shangri-La, in 2013, he joined the European Institute for Cooperation and Development a social development organization leading education and training programs for disadvantaged communities.
There, Simon took a variety of roles including hospitality school Director, Country Representative for Myanmar and South East Asia Program Manager and Head of Development and Training of the Hospitality Program, posted in the United Kingdom
In 2022, he then managed the operations of the Fairmont Montebello, a 210 rooms resort based out of seasonal activities and proximity to nature in Québec province, CANADA.
Simon holds a Master Degree in International Hotel Management from La Rochelle University and earned a Master Degree in International Tourism Development from University of Paris, Panthéon-Sorbonne.
