Alan Christie is the CEO of the Steamships Hospitality Division, and is responsible for advancing the position of Steamships Hospitality as Papua New Guinea's leading hospitality company and leading its strategic growth into new areas of business.His aim is to deliver value to employees, guests, residents, partners and shareholders by enhancing the existing business and taking advantage of new opportunities for growth, expansion and innovation, while nurturing and advancing the company’s competitive advantage.
Alan has a diverse range of expertise in asset management, business development, and operations and brings a significant wealth of leadership experience spanning the financial services, real estate finance and hospitality industries. Since beginning his career in 1997 working in boutique hotels in Scotland and England, he has held various executive roles in Asia, UAE, London, and North America. Most recently, he led multiple hotel operations and developments at La Vie Hotels in Sri Lanka where, amongst other activities, he was responsible for establishing Radisson’s first group of hotels in the country.
He also holds a Financial Services & Tourism degree from the Universities of Gloucestershire and La Verne and subsequently a Banking and International Finance Masters from Harvard University.
