General Manager - Human Resources
Christopher Jacob, also known as CJ, was appointed as the General Manager Human Resources at Steamships in October 2023. CJ brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as the Chief HR Officer for the Private Office of the Royal Family in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi & Sharjah. In this role, he oversaw business interests of the group across multiple GCC States, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.Before his tenure in the Middle East, CJ held the position of Assistant VP for HR & Administration at Nippon Steel in Japan. With a career spanning 30 years, he has worked across various industries such as banking, hospitality & quick-service restaurants (QSR), construction & building materials, dairy-food-semicon manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), healthcare, and real estate/property management. CJ has also been involved in multiple HR system implementations including Oracle Fusion, SAP (R/3) & Success Factors, MENAME HR, and D365 HR.
CJ holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management and a Master's degree in Management Technology, both from De La Salle University in Manila. He has also achieved HR Qualification Level 7 awarded by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Additionally, CJ has earned professional certifications in Compensation Management from PMAP Philippines, Hay Method-Job Evaluation from Korn Ferry Saudi Arabia, and Strategic Talent Management from HRCi, California.
